With the GLOBE Academy being a public charter school, our funding flows through DeKalb County School District from the state and federal government, and they do keep a portion of our money for logistics, operations, those type of things. So we don't get the same funding as the traditional school down the street per se.
So with that we have lots of opportunities where we can have events and raise money specifically for the GLOBE Academy, one being our annual fund that we do yearly. Next being at GLOBE Trot where our students are able to get involved and really support the giving program here. And after that, we move on to our music program for GLOBE Rocks, where our parents come together to raise money specifically for music. And finally through our PTCC, Parent Teacher Community Council, we come together for our Annual Auction. All of these come together to really enhance the programs we have going on here.
We value all types of volunteers, not just financial givers, but also people willing to volunteer their time. One way you can do that is be a part of our governing board and the board committees that we have.
As we are looking into the future and developing our school and as we continue to grow, we are really looking to develop more of our partners in education with the businesses around us that share the same vision and mission that we do in creating those global citizens to go out into the world and make a positive impact.
